How is the use god chosen?
By what you ask: work and exams take the Officer line, money and lost things the Wealth line, letters the Parents line, your own trip the self line. When the line appears more than once, Zeng Shan Bu Yi says take the strongest: a moving line first, then the one on the self line, then the one most in season.
Does an empty branch mean it will not happen?
Not by itself. Ye He Lao Ren says a line that is strong, moving, or helped by the day or a moving line is not truly empty; it is only waiting for the ten-day span to turn. Only a weak line with no help is truly empty.
What is the difference between a month break and a day break?
A line the month branch clashes with is broken by the month; the book holds that it is broken for now and whole once the month is out. A clash from the day stirs a strong still line, which is hidden movement, and only breaks a weak one.
Why not cast again and again on one matter?
The preface of Zeng Shan Bu Yi asks for one matter at a time and a settled mind. If a cast is unclear you may cast again the next day, but not keep casting because you dislike the answer.
