The Goat and the Goat
A year of your own sign is called ben ming nian (本命年). Popular custom treats it as a year for care, and many people wear something red. It is a living custom. We found no rule for it in the books this site uses.
Why there is no horoscope here
We do not print a yearly horoscope for each sign. None of the classics we use says how a sign’s work, money or love will go in a given year. Those forecasts are modern writing. Your sign is also only one of eight characters in a chart, so if you want to see how 2027 meets your own chart, draw one and read the annual pillars.
Goat years
Recent Goat years: 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015. The sign changes at the start of the Chinese year, so check the date if you were born in January or early February.
What the year table places at this branch
These are the spirits Xie Ji Bian Fang Shu lists at this branch for 2027. The book uses them for building in that direction, not for people born in the sign. Folk almanacs later applied some of them to people.
- 太歲Tai SuiBad for all building work
- 黃幡Huang FanBad for repairs in that direction
Sources Xie Ji Bian Fang Shu, vol. 18, for the year table, and San Ming Tong Hui, vol. 2, for the Three Punishments. Popular customs are named as such. The plain text is ours.
