The nine stars
Each year one star moves into the centre and the rest follow in a fixed order. For 2027 that star is Nine Purple. The Xie Ji table for this year agrees with our chart, and it lists One White, Six White, Eight White and Nine Purple as the good stars.
Five Yellow is in the north this year. Later feng shui books treat it as the star to leave undisturbed. That advice is modern teaching, and it is not in the year table.
Tai Sui and the Year Breaker
The table marks these as bad for opening ground, setting a facing and repairs. Tai Sui sits at Wei, about 210 degrees on the compass. The Year Breaker sits opposite at Chou, about 30 degrees. The Three Killings take the whole west, from Shen through You to Xu, about 240 to 300 degrees.
The book is a manual for building work. It tells a builder which directions to avoid in that year. It does not say that facing Tai Sui at your desk brings harm, which is a later idea.
