In plain words
Lian Zhen is the hardest of the major stars to read, and everything depends on its company. With Zi Wei it holds power. With Lu Cun it brings wealth. With Wen Chang it loves ritual and music. With harsh stars it suits military work. Away from strong palaces the book turns severe.
Sources Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu, vols. 1 and 2, from an online transcription, not yet checked against a printed edition. The plain text is ours, and it leaves out the book’s harshest lines about death and about women.
