In plain words
Ju Men is the star of hidden things. The book ties it to gossip, doubt and quarrels, and goes through the palaces one by one: family, marriage, work. Zi Wei can restrain it and Lu Cun can ease it, and meeting Tai Yang leaves good and bad in balance.
Sources Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu, vols. 1 and 2, from an online transcription, not yet checked against a printed edition. The plain text is ours, and it leaves out the book’s harshest lines about death and about women.
