二星守身命,遇吉則吉,遇凶則凶。

When these two stars hold the Life palace, good company brings good and bad company brings bad.

Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu, vol. 1

In plain words

Di Jie and Tian Kong are treated as a pair of empty stars. They take their colour from the stars around them, but the book does not want to see them. Their mark is lost money. A verse says they spoil even talent and heroism.

Sources Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu, vols. 1 and 2, from an online transcription, not yet checked against a printed edition. The plain text is ours, and it leaves out the book’s harshest lines about death and about women.
